Pisces Fish Report January 20th to January 26th

Date: 1/27/2018

It has been a truly magical week of fishing here in Cabo. Not only has the weather been delightful, an average of 80 F, with nice crisp mornings, but to top it off, whatever species of fish anglers targeted this week, they found. If you’ve dreamed of ever catching a marlin and you want to almost “guarantee” your odds, now is the time to be here. The trend continues as last week, to be upwards of 3 marlin caught per boat, with top performers catching up to 10. Those who targeted tuna and dorado also found them and small game fishing has been off the charts. Big sierras, very nice sized groupers and a few rooster fish thrown into the mix. Of course lots of triggerfish, sheepshead and others too.

Once again, fantastic fishing this week. The striped marlin bite is ON, but we are seeing good numbers of smaller game fish and we still have some dorado too. And since fishing has been relatively close, anglers have had the opportunity to target a few different species in one trip, making for very fun fishing and lot’s of fish caught.

Again, what a week! 2018 shows no signs to disappoint any time soon… Great marlin catches out at the Finger Banks and Golden Gate, with all stripers and one blue caught this week and even more dorado. Yellowfin tuna catches slowing down quite a bit and anglers having tons of fun with smaller game fish like grouper, sierra and red snapper, to name a few.

Pisces Fish Report December 30th to January 5th

This week we saw a more marked division among what species anglers targeted; with the fishing being a bit scattered at the moment, some opted to stay close and go for smaller game or dorado, while others went out further looking for either tuna or marlin. A few anglers made the extra effort to “guarantee” themselves their billfish, going about 50 miles up the Pacific coast to the Finger Banks. For those that did, it paid off, with boats catching upwards of 8 striped marlin each. A total of 430 fish were caught this week by Pisces boats, with 40 being marlin, 90 tuna and 187 dorado. All catch limits respected.
