What a great week in Cabo! Not only did we have our resident striped marlin but we also started to see some consistent blue marlin catches as well as the odd sailfish. First blue marlin of the week was caught by Lester Matlock, June 23rd, twenty eight miles out from the 11.50 the fish took a live caballito and was estimated at 184 lbs. before being released from the Pisces La Brisa. The next day out La Brisa headed to the Cabrillo area and managed to catch a blue marlin just past the 200 lb. mark and two sailfish for fifteen year old Kash Sisk from Emory, Texas

Overall Catch Success Rate All Species Combined 86% Numbers at a glance: Billfish 71%, Dorado 34%, Tuna 26%, Other 14% BILLFISH: This week we had some really good catches for mixed billfish with catch rates at a respectable rate. Full moon at the start of this period was believed to be the determining factor for some boats getting “skunked”, but nevertheless we are starting to see the variety of billfish caught in summer.

Overall Catch Success Rate All Species combined 89% Numbers at a glance: Billfish 54%, Tuna 32%, Dorado 24% BILLFISH: This week the very first Pelagic Summer Slam tournament was held in Cabo, a fledgling touranment seeking to promote sportfishing & local charter boats at an affordable price. Twenty eight vessels entered and the event was well received

Overall Catch Success Rate All Species Combined 88% Numbers at a glance: Billfish 62%, Dorado 17%, Tuna 14%, Small Game 22% BILLFISH: This fish report covers a two week period, as we were at our new secret location last week; an undiscovered & incredible Baja fishery where we shall begin operations shortly. The Cabo fishery remained robust this period with plenty of striped marlin, sharks and even a few sailfish making an appearance
