Pisces Fishing Reports
Fishing Reports Date: 12/29/2017
We saw many tuna per boat this week, and again, two BIG tuna hit our docks, one of around 278 lbs and another of about 150 lbs in size caught aboard the Pisces Andrea! We also had one of our last blue marlin to be caught this year

What a wild week it’s been. A bit of unexpected weather: thunder storms, lightning and even a bit of hail here in Cabo these past few days. Usually it does not rain around this time of year, let alone hail, ever! But two quick storms past through the city, not lasting more than an hour or so. Colder temperatures also finally showed up this week and it seems to have had an effect on fishing. Boats this week had more luck with tuna and smaller game fish than marlin and although dorado numbers are still good, they are lower than the previous week’s. With all this said, fishing was good and of great variety! Only three boats got skunked and one was because of seasick anglers that wished to return early.

What a week! BIG tuna found consecutively this week, with the largest caught being over 300 lbs. aboard the 31ft Rebecca. Other catches still included strong numbers of billfish, with one of the first black marlin caught by Pisces boats this year, as well as some grouper, rooster fish, Spanish mackerel, wahoo and a few sharks.

Billfish headlining this fish report once again, with catches of mostly striped marlin, but some blues as well. Boats still catching up to 7 marlin each on good days. Dorado numbers strong as well, but starting to dissipate much more now, and I am predicting the tuna will be picking up a bit by next week. Not many small game fish this week, just a few silky and mako sharks.
